The Legend of the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine
This is the only children's book based solely on this legend and was written by Regina Tucker in special consultation with Tom Kollenborn, one of Arizona's foremost historians and experts on this legend. It is filled with over 50 full-color photos and illustrations of the locale of this legend and of the era. It also has a copy of the map that "the Dutchman" left to his caregiver before his death and a list of the 14 clues he left that still baffle us today. There are suggested reading lists (for children and adults) in the back of the book. Additional resources listing and maps are also included in the Appendix. $ 15.00 plus $1.50 shipping cost for each book. * Available with either a blue or yellow-gold cover and with a plain or spiral binding (for laying flat). Be sure to specify. |
"Book Walk" with the author
Regina Tucker is available for one of her special "Book Walks." This can be presented in a variety of ways: as an old-fashioned "storytelling" to children, as an electronic presentation/slide show for adults, or as a topic discussion and analysis. Each "Book Walk" is about an hour long and will leave time for a question/answer session at the end. Call us for any other customized delivery you may wish to have given. $ 150.00 - Other rates can be applied for special adjustments or considerations--just call to arrange.
- Handouts or additional instructional materials can also be provided per request (some additional charges may apply--according to volume requested)

Author "Storytelling" Presentation
This "Author Storytelling" presentation is given as a storytelling of The Legend of the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine book in a seating area behind the Superstition Mountain Museum and using the dramatic and every-changing face of the Superstition Mountains as a backdrop. Sometimes you can even have a local prospector and his pack-mule will wander from the desert to delight and intrigue audiences! Of course, his exit would be just as intriguing he wanders back through the desert toward the mountain, while the author finishes the story with a call to all to "believe in their dreams." Book signings by the author and a tour of the museum will conclude this program.
- Student rates: $ 1.00 per student for presentation & an additional $1.00 per student for museum tour
- Other rates available for clubs or organizations
* Call 480-983-4888 to speak with Shirley Keeton, Director of the Superstition Mountain Museum, for scheduling
* This same type of "Author's Storytelling" presentation can also be brought to your school, library, museum, clubs & organizations, or special events. Just email or call Sol de Oro Publications at 480-892-0582 to make those arrangements. You may also use the order form to email us your specifications and dates.
(Prospector and pack-mule are subject to availabilty and extra charges.) |
Professional Development and/or Workshop
Regina Tucker is also a retired English teacher and has specialized in several areas of education: curriculum development and alignment, distance learning delivery methods, integrated curriculum, cooperative learning, and variable approaches and successful techniques for the "having trouble" students. These are just a few. She can assist in developing a professional development or workshop that will incorporate any or all of these strategies. She can also use her book, The Legend of the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine, as a launchpad into a writing/publishing project for students or simply to encourage a love of reading and learning about Arizona's history and folklore. Working to set up partnerships between schools, libraries, museums, and other organizations in attaining educational goals is one of her best assets and one she enjoys the most. - Workshop costs: and up (depending on event and number of participants)
- All instructional materials, supplies, and kits can also be supplied in attractive and easy-to-use formats
- These workshops can also be customized to your specific needs and requests
* Call Sol de Oro Publications with your individualized requests at 480-892-0582 or email special requests via the order form found on that page.
